The Protea Bed and Breakfast , situated,
- On the east site of the YPRES SALIENT, on the infamous MENIN ROAD, called INVERNES COPSE during WORLD WAR I.
- The village GHELUVELT is by the Worchester’s and Wales well know for the first battle of Ypres on the 31 October 1914.

- Some 8 km to the North we cross the Flanders I and Flanders II line and find the village of Passchendaele also the end of the 3th battle of Ypres, after 103 days fighting and a loss of some 245.000 man.
